Dispatch Supervisor

Transgas is hiring a Dispatch Supervisor for our Dispatch Operations department in Lowell, MA.

Job Purpose

The position of Dispatch Supervisor reports directly to the Director, Dispatch Operations. This position is responsible for developing schedules, booking drivers with the appropriate equipment, handling customer service requests, analyzing driver’s daily trips, and supervising union drivers. This is a shift position requiring rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Regulatory complianc.
  • Supervise, train and hold drivers accountable for their daily actions. Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Oversee the operational workload of team; ensuring allocated staff are fully utilized in order to deliver against agreed program of work
  • Train, test, and develop LNG drivers (and document training) to ensure staff have the required skills and knowledge to successfully operate CDL and LNG vehicles and ensure compliance with regulations; ensure supervised team comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff
  • Communicate maintenance, operating and training information as well as changes to procedures others as necessary in order to ensure that records are contemporary and accurate
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations by providing up to date information on Transgas and National Grid policies, processes and programs to regulatory bodies
  • Develop, edit, verify, promote and implement procedural best practices (e.g. operations, isolation, maintenance) within the team in order to ensure all working practices are compliant with Transgas and National Grid policies and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and challenge business processes where appropriate in order to ensure Transgas is compliant with regulatory requirements
Qualifications
  • Associates degree preferred and 3+ years experience in a supervisor management position
  • Trucking industry and/or LNG industry experience is a plus
  • Valid drivers license
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) / Tanker / HazMat endorsements is a plus
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have experience managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships and resolve human resources issues
  • Must be available to work different shifts and weekends and holidays when needed

  • Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and prioritize workload
  • Position is subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing

Seaside Energy LLC for Woodland Pulp Mill

Location: Baileyville, ME

Transgas provided temporary LNG storage and transportation to an industrial customer that was converting from fuel oil to natural gas. 5 to 6 loads were delivered to the site daily while the mill was tying into the Maritime pipeline. In total, 797 loads of LNG were delivered.

National Grid

Location: Rotterdam Junction, NY

Transgas responded to an emergency situation in Rotterdam Junction, NY, where hurricane flooding washed away the existing natural gas pipeline. Transgas responded by providing temporary LNG storage, transportation, and vaporization to the site to provide gas to over 500 customers and a large chemical plant.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline/Keyspan Energy

Location: Nashua, NH

Transgas provided temporary LNG storage, transportation, and vaporization to support approximately 40,000 residential and commercial customers in the Nashua, NH service territory of Keyspan while routine service was being performed. 6 to 9 loads were delivered daily.
